I noticed an interesting Bible verse this month. It is the first part of Proverbs 19:22 and it reads, “What is desired in a man is kindness.”
I have given that verse some thought. My paraphrase is pretty much what you see above on the envelope. I’d say it pertains to men and women and boys and girls.
A four-year old friend of mine offered to give to me his already-tasted sucker the other day. Actually, I thought that was really kind of him. He was so sincere. He liked it and wanted me to experience it.
Most of us crave kindness. I remember one time, years ago, when I visited my grandmother during a rough period of my life. I was going to stay for a few days. When I arrived, she was already sleeping, so I quietly went into the room where I would sleep. There, she had turned back the covers for me. It might seem a small thing, but that small kindness was a big thing to me that night.
Kindness is noticed in facial expression, tone of voice, and thoughtful and considerate deeds. I want to be an intentionally kinder person.
That’s all for now,
Brenda
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
