This week’s Envelope Art…
This song is a bit of an oldie. I ran across it while flipping through a hymn book looking for one to illustrate. I chose it because I know so many people who are going through rough situations right now.
It makes me think of the 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) — Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
My personal paraphrase for this verse is, “Give all your burdens to Jesus, because He is taking care of you.”
Here are all the words of the song by Ralph Carmichael:
Verse 1Is your burden heavyAs you bear it all aloneDoes the road you travelHarbor danger yet unknownAre you growing wearyIn the struggle of it allJesus will help youWhen on His name you callVerse 2Is the life you’re livingFilled with sorrow and despairDoes the future press youWith its worry and its careAre you tired and friendlessHave you almost lost your wayJesus will help youJust come to Him todayChorusHe is always thereHearing ev’ry prayerFaithful and trueWalking by our sideIn His love we hideAll the day throughWhen you get discouragedJust remember what to doReach out to JesusHe’s reaching out to you
