Dinner with Jesus

come-and-dine

The Bible says quite a bit about eating with Jesus. It mentions the wedding feast to which all are invited (Matthew 22), the fact that Jesus ate with sinners (Luke 15:2), His desire to come in and dine with us (Revelation 3:20) and many other instances. However, the passage below impacts me more than all the others as far as highlighting the type of Person Jesus is. That passage is Luke 12:35-40:

“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;  and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.  Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.  And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and[a]not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

As if He has not humbled Himself enough already, Jesus, the King of the Universe will serve the servants some day. It is almost unimaginable, but I would like to be there. I want to be faithful on a daily basis, to be ready when He comes.

I received a stack of old magazines and flipped through them, looking for craft ideas. When I saw the photo below (and above on the card), it made me think of heaven.
