Tree Tunnel

When I think Tennessee, I think green, lush, waterways, hot weather, wilderness, wildlife, and beauty.

Take a look at the photo below, for instance. This is on the way home from my friends’ farm. There is light at the end of the tunnel.Tunnel with Signature

Take Me to That Land

Winding Road

Take Me to That Land

by brendakay, March 11, 2016

Jesus, hold my hand
Take me to that Land
     Guide me through the rain
     Hold me during pain
Enable me to stand

I am scared and small
You are strong and tall
    I can’t see my way
    Even for a day
You are my all in all

Place Your mind in me
Selfless I will be
    Answering Your call
    Sacrificing all
And giving cheerfully

Let me have Your heart
Brave to stand apart
    Faith as clear as sight
    Hope throughout the night
 With love that gives its part

I must lean on You
Watching what You do
    Trusting in Your care
    Confident in prayer
Your promises are true

Jesus, hold my hand
Work in me Your plan
    What you want is best
    Your way leads to rest
Oh, take me to that Land

The Beautiful Side of Winter

IMG_0361

Snow is rare where I now live in TN. It snowed two days ago and that kept us in for about a day. There is no question that it is beautiful. While some parts of the country got far more snow than desired, we had 3 1/2 to 4 inches, just enough to satisfy me for the next year (or more.)

This tree grows beside my garage.

The Road Ahead

Is your future uncertain? Scary? No one is more capable of taking you through each day ahead than the One who created you. He knows you better than anyone else knows you. No one loves you as He does. He is able. Take heart!

sung by Alison Krauss and the Cox Family

I don’t know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don’t borrow from it’s sunshine
For it’s skies may turn to grey.

I don’t worry o’er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I’ll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden’s getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver-lined.

There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

I don’t know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.

And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I’m covered with His blood.

Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand..
